I have been interested in painting and crafts ever since I was very young, watching my father paint every Sunday in Indiana. I have painted and taken watercolor and acrylic classes the past 20 years on and off in Indiana, South Walton County, Fl, and Summit County, CO. It is a joy to do en plein air painting with this group of lovely W.O.W ladies in CO, and plein air painters in Fl. Sometimes I paint from my photos of world travels.
The peacefulness and joy I get, from the challenge of recording the beauty of Co and Fl with a paintbrush, keeps me returning to plein air painting. I'm in awe of the sunsets in Fl and the shadows of mountains. Watercolor is my preferred medium, sometimes diverting to acrylics with applied textures.
I have sold pictures at Arts Quest in Fl., and Summit County, Co. I was in a WOW show in Georgetown, Co. , and sold at our 2013 Breckenridge show at Art Supply. I have shown at Arts Quest in Rosemary Beach, and in the Santa Rosa Beach, Fl library.
I won a Merit Award in South Walton's A plus Art show in 2013 and am presently showing there at the Cultural Arts Alliance building. It is so special when friends purchase my art.
Doing workshops with Co artists, Rita Derju, Debra McAllister, Ann Weaver, Cathy Goodale, Kate Keisler, and Randy Hale in watercolor have been a joy. Also have taken classes in Fl from Susan Lucas, Carol Dickson, and Donnell Clark.
