Artist's Statement

It is my desire to be able to capture the joys of nature, actions of people and paint en pleinair and put it on paper. In this way, I will be able to share the profound feelings I have at the moment at a wonderful site or location which can be at any time or place.

The consequences of my work gives due rewards (Zen).

I began studying watercolor 11 years ago and became hooked. I have studied at CMC with Ann Weaver and Edith Polombi, the Anderson Ranch with Don Nice and have had summer workshops with Kathy Goodall, Linda Loechen, Pat Conroy and with Raleigh Kinney, all professional artists of watercolor. I have done workshops with Carta O'Connor, AWS, NWS, Dan Burt, AWS, Judi Betts, AWS, Judy Moryis, AWS and have studied with Catherine Anderson, AWS, NWS, and recently with Joye Moon.

I have had solo shows at the Speakeasy Theatre in Breckenridge the summers of 2000 and 2004 and at St.Luke's Episcopal Church in 2003. I have had several honorable mentions and third place ribbons in Houston, TX. I show monthly at the WAS-H gallery in Houston. I had a painting accepted and shown in hospitals and downtown offices for two years by GMI, decorators for office buildings. I have shown regularly at the Speakeasy Theatre in Breckenridge, the Silverthorne Library with WOW and the Senior Center in Frisco. I belong to three watercolor societies and have contributed my time and energies to Water media 2000 and 2003. I was Chairperson of the Women of Watercolor (WOW) for two consecutive seasons and am an active member of that group. A painting was accepted in the juried International show in Houston in 2003. In 2005 two paintings were accepted in a juried show in the Texas statewide Lone Exhibit. This past year, 2006, I had a painting juried into A&M University's Art Gallery which was ultimately sold

Many of my paintings are with collectors across the United States.

My goal is to be the best I can be in water media and continue to grow in this medium, my passion.
