Paint-Outs: WOW! plans plein air painting sessions at selected sites during the months of July and August. WOW!s mission is watercolor painting, but plein air artists in any medium are invited to guest once with WOW! , then officially join the group for camaraderie and whatever other benefits “fit.”

Website: www.womenofwatercolor.com  Yes,  WOW! now has its own web site. The site includes all of the important information about our workshops, paint-out schedules, member information and more. If you chose to participate, you can also have your own personal web page posted on our site with your portrait, artist’s statement, and contact information...all for free. You may also display examples of your paintings, up to ten images... for only $5.00 per painting image. Contact webmaster@womenofwatercolor.com  for details about purchasing image postings.

E-mail Network: Keeps members and friends up to date on coming events and happenings of interest.

Instruction: Several times during the summer WOW! contracts an instructor to be on hand at paint-outs. We also offer a range of mini-classes taught by members and local instructors on a variety of subjects. Additionally, at the end of each session, group members come together to critique one another’s work and offer suggestions.

Workshops: WOW! offers at least one intensive watercolor workshop at a discounted “member” rate each summer and often offers other learning opportunities as well. (e.g. framing and matting workshops, printing and reproduction workshops, field trips to shows, etc.)

Exhibitions: WOW! has been invited to show work in public venues in Summit County for a number of summers. Additionally WOW! mounts its own traditional water-media exhibition in late summer with each member being her own “jury” to show her very finest work of the season. WOW! also exhibits  at  Art Fairs and other venues selected by members throughout the summer.

Discounts: The Balance Sheet, 101 7th Ave, Frisco has extended a 20% discount on ART SUPPLIES ONLY to WOW!  members.  Rick’s Affordable Art and Framing, 573-C Adams Ave, Silverthorne, offers us a 20% discount on framing only. Copy Copy, 825 N. Summit Blvd, Frisco offers discounts on printing note cards and reproductions on watercolor-type paper. The Frame Studio, 505 S. Main, Breckenridge, offers a 20% discount on custom framing and supplies. Flash your WOW! card and tell them you are a member!

Mats: WOW! owns a mat cutter and purchases mat boards in quantity. They are stored at Kathy Wahler’s home. Ron Wahler will cut beautiful mats to order:

    Small Mats $3.00

    Medium Mats $5.00 (1/2 sheet)

    Large Mats $7.00 (¾-1 sheet)

Backing Boards: Foam-core is available from Kathy Wahler to match your mat size for $1.00 per back.

Acetate envelopes: Clear acetate envelopes in standard sizes (for bin work in mats) have been bulk purchased by WOW! for your convenience. You will need to check with Kathy Wahler on size availability and price.

Philanthropy: WOW! members  volunteer services to Arts Alive! Gallery  in Breckenridge, the exhibition venue of the Summit County Arts Council, and donate their selected paintings to numerous organizations
